Shawn comes back to Baystate Health with 28 years of experience in prehospital Emergency Medicine.  1998 he graduated from Springfield College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Emergency Medical Services Management. Shawn spent 12 years as a IFT-Paramedic, Lead, Mentor and Operations Supervisor for Baystate Health Ambulance. In that time he gained experience as an instructor for The American Heart Association and an Instructor/Coordinator for MA OEMS, participating in programs with MedicED and Mercy Medical Center, teaching ACLS, Healthcare Provider BLS Classes, EMT-Basic, Intermediate and Paramedic Programs. Shawn was successful in developing an MA OEMS accredited teaching site for EMT-Basic programs at Baystate Health.

In 2010, Shawn of became a Firefighter/Paramedic for a local full-time department. There he was a mentor for new employees and paramedic students throughout Western Ma. Shawn was also an active member in committees in EMS, Joint Labor and Negotiations.

Shawn is originally from Western MA and currently resides in East Longmeadow with his wife Candice, two daughters and two step-sons. He is an avid musician and utilizes that platform to raise funds for First Responder’s Health & Wellness in Western MA.
