Matt is returning to the area after completing an EMS fellowship at Yale University and an emergency medicine residency at Baystate Health. Before medical school, Dr. Shapiro served as an EMT in several EMS settings: volunteer, private, and, later, third service with Boston EMS. Originally from Swampscott, MA, his interests outside of medicine include spending time with family and friends, running, and going to the beach. He is excited to join the team and is eager to continue working with everyone in an ongoing effort to improve prehospital care in our region. We are excited to welcome Dr. Shapiro to the team and look forward to benefitting from the knowledge and experience he will bring with him.
